Last week, our Board of Commissioners approved the Fall 2024 service change to optimize our service. We know that change can sometimes be overwhelming, but we want to keep you informed and make this transition as easy as possible.

What’s Changing?

• Redesigned Routes and Service Adjustments: Effective November 3rd, we will be introducing 19 redesigned routes aimed at making your travels smoother and more efficient. To optimize our resources, the following routes are being discontinued due to low ridership, available funding, and community feedback.

o 16-Southeast Circulator

o 28-Airport (this area will now be covered by an extension of Route 4)

o 34-Central & Walnut Grove

o 37-Perkins

o Ready! Zone 3-Cordova

We are, however, expanding Ready! Zone 2 to cover parts of the 32-Hawkins Mill route to help meet community needs.
 

New Service Times Fixed Route:

o Monday-Saturday: Service will now end at 7 PM, with buses arriving every hour.

o Sunday: Service will end at 6 PM, with buses arriving every two hours.

 

We’re also increasing the frequency of buses on some routes to every 30 minutes on weekdays for:

• 1-Union

• 8-Chelsea

• 42-Crosstown

• 50-Poplar

• 52-Jackson

 

New Service Times Ready! On Demand:

o Monday-Saturday: Service will now end at 6 PM, with last bookings at 5:30PM

Fare Changes:

Additionally, starting November 3rd, we’ll return to our pre-COVID fare of $1.75 (one way) & $3.50 (all day pass) for fixed routes. MATAplus will be $3.50. We’re also introducing a $2 fare for our Ready! and Groove On-Demand services.

New On-Demand App:

We’re very excited to introduce the new GO901 On-Demand app on November 3rd. This app will replace the current Ready! by MATA app and will make it even easier for you to book and pay for your rides in one place. We hope this makes your experience more convenient and stress-free. We’ll be sharing more details soon, including how to download and use the new app.
