Please note that 7-day and 31-day passes are currently not available. Children under the age of five can ride for free when accompanied by a fare-paying adult. The farebox at the front of the bus accepts cash fares and passes but does not dispense change; exact fare is required. Bus operators are not permitted to handle money or make change.

MATAplus customers with a valid MATAplus identification card can ride fixed-route vehicles for half fare by presenting the card to the operator upon boarding. MATAplus cards can be purchased in person at the William Hudson Transit Center, American Way Transit Center, Airways Transit Center, or by mail.
Reduced Fare Program:
MATA offers reduced fare rates for students enrolled in Memphis-Shelby County Schools, senior citizens 65 years and older, and people with disabilities on fixed-route bus and trolley services. A valid MATA identification card is required to qualify for the reduced fare. MATA identification cards cost $3 and are processed at the William Hudson Transit Center located at 444 North Main Street. Replacement cards cost $5.

For mail purchases, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope with payment to the MATA Customer Service Center at the William Hudson Transit Center. If a self-addressed envelope is not provided, include an additional $1.00 for postage and handling. Allow seven to ten business days for delivery of the MATAplus card.
MATA Pass Policy:
All passes are non-refundable, non-replaceable, and non-exchangeable. MATA assumes no responsibility for items lost, stolen, misplaced, or delayed in the mail.
