MATA Bus Service Adjustments for the 2024 St. Jude Memphis Marathon

To accommodate the St. Jude Memphis Marathon on Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, MATA will implement temporary route detours and adjustments. These changes are necessary due to road closures along the marathon course. Please review the details below to plan your travel accordingly.

• Date: Saturday, December 7, 2024
• Time: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Hudson Transit Center: Will not be utilized during the event. Temporary transfer points will be located at:
  • Danny Thomas Ave. @ Chelsea
  • Lamar Ave. @ Bellevue
  • Jackson @ Watkins

Detoured Routes

MATA bus routes will follow adjusted paths during the marathon. Please click the links below to view detour maps for each affected route:

Shuttle Services

Special shuttles will operate during the event:

• Lamar/Jackson Shuttle: Connects key transfer points at Lamar & Bellevue and Watkins & Jackson.
• Downtown Shuttle: Serves Lamar & Bellevue and additional downtown stops.
• Jackson Shuttle: Bus will pick up at Danny Thomas and Chelsea and Watkins and Jackson

Additional Notes

• Regular service will resume once roads reopen at approximately 3:30 PM.
• Riders connecting to affected routes are encouraged to allow extra travel time.
